Where it all began…
I am a qualified (and still part time practising) primary school teacher, with extensive experience in EYFS planning & assessment, who believes strongly in the benefit of play based learning activities and continuous provision in the classroom.
During the school closures of 2020, I began supporting parents, realising that lots of you wanted to support your children and needed help with EYFS planning and play based learning at home, but were not sure how. It also became quickly obvious that it was not only parents who were need of extra support but also time stretched teachers, struggling to find EYFS planning, assessment and resources that suited their needs and that of their young learners.
Is It Time To Play? was born!
...our hopes for the future
As a practising teacher I know the value of time and also how time-consuming planning, creating and resourcing, challenging and engaging activities is! The aim of Is It Time To Play? is to provide flexible and time saving EYFS planning which suits the needs of Early Years Classrooms and Settings from Preschool through to Reception.
The variety of EYFS planning banks provided includes, theme and text based planning banks, phonics support, planning templates and continues to grow all the time.
I have recently started to support practitioners prepare for the changes to the EYFS curriculum 2021 and am now providing lots of planning, assessment materials and resources to help navigate the developments.
As the volume of planning, assessment and play based learning provisions continue to grow in size and popularity, our hope is to not only introduce more supporting EYFS planning and resources for practitioners and teachers, but to also help KS1 colleagues in saving time on planning.
I always welcome practitioners ideas for what planning, assessment materials and resources you would like to see, so please do get in touch and see if I can help you!
